Hey out there, Luceti. Are we all more or less ourselves again? Pretty sure we are, uh... here's hoping.

Considering how crazy things have been lately, Teddy and I were talking, and we think it'd be a good time to run this. We all need a break. So courtesy of the LGBTQQA Club - um, I'm tentatively calling it "Alliance", for the sake of minimizing all the abbreviations, better name possibly pending - I'm happy to introduce: Luceti's first-ever (I think) Speed Dating.

If you don't know what speed dating is, it's pretty much exactly how it sounds. The idea is we'd all get together, pair up, you'd talk to someone you might not have talked to before for about ten minutes, and then afterwards decide how you liked it and if you want to see them again. First impressions count for a lot, and sometimes that's all it takes to find your true love or your new best friend.

We're going to run it next weekend - Saturday afternoon, we figure is a good time - and sign-ups are starting now so we'll have time to pair everyone up. Anyone can participate, not just club members or people in the LGBT spectrum, and you're not obligated to do anything if you don't like it. So why not give it a shot? ...And we'll have cookies. Teddy's making them and the recipe looks amazing. Anyone else want to bring some food and stuff? We can have a table for contributions...

Um, anyway. I'll be over by the plaza today, and on the journal network, too, if you've got any questions or if you want to sign up.

[The above message is also written out (albeit less informally). And there's a table with posters and some forms in the plaza, near the school, all day. Billy's just hanging out and drawing the passerbys while he waits, if anyone wants to chat him up about it in person.]

Ah, sorry- it's like a support group here for people who have sexualities and genders that aren't always accepted by society.

The full title is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and Allies. Kind of a mouthful, though.

[That sounds kind of silly to her. Then again, she's from a small village where everyone pretty much already knows everyone, so first impressions are hard to come by.]

Not always! It's just one fun option out of many. Dating isn't a concept that has rules attached to it or anything.

[Teddy's been hanging around the area, mostly to answer questions himself, help Billy however he can, practice his shapeshifting and wander off if he gets bored of being in the same general area, which is one of the reasons why he's gone now.

The other reason is shown when he returns with two paper bags held in one arm and drinks in the other, although he's not necessarily himself. He's decided to shift into the last person he visited, which might be a clue as to what at least one of the bags might contain.]

[Billy looks up at the familiar voice, has a quick double-take, then lifts a brow.]

Do you know how weird it is to be called that in someone else's voice?

[He ignores the comment itself; he's not... that bad. Generally. Just when he's stressed or overly enthused, the latter of which he very much is today.]

The "Alliance", hmm? It's a wonderful name, Billy. [Very superhero-y, but appropriate nonetheless. Ororo approves!

You think? I wasn't sure if it was too cliche or obvious.

[He's oddly pleased by her approval.]

And yeah- are you interested in giving it a shot?

[ light laughter. charmed laughter, really. and although it isn't really her scene, she finds the notion somewhat endearing.

Speed dating. There's a concept from home I never expected to see, here. But I suppose it makes some sense. As I understand it, we're not all necessarily given a great deal of time to take the slow route in Luceti.

It's not just that. I don't know, I think the point of this is just to break the ice and introduce people. Even in a little village like this, it can be hard to meet the right person.

[A Very Angry Mutant Turtle stalks across the plaza, veering when he sees the sign. Despite Billy's assurances in their conversation a few weeks ago, he still feels obligated to sign up for this. He can't manage to be all that friendly about it, though.]

[Wow, who pissed in Donatello's turtle food this morning? Billy blinks up at him, trying for a moment to figure out what's got him so ticked off, but nothing comes to mind.]

Uh, hi. Is there a problem?

[Dating, huh? She's always been so focused on work, she never really gave it any thought. That, and there's Gold.] Is it only for dating? Or can you just go there to meet new people? [Baby steps, Crys.]

It doesn't have to be dating. Some people are already in relationships, or just aren't interested- there's plenty of reasons. I mean, dating's the whole point of it, but I'm definitely not going to say no to people who are looking to make new friends.

[Pretzels! What a bro. Billy grins and grabs for it at once, popping open the bag to munch one before responding. He will never say no to pretzels.]

Hey, thanks! Attendance is looking good, actually. [He nudges the growing pile of sign-up forms.] I didn't expect this much, but it's great.

Teddy? [ Instantly pinged, although after that she has to...actually figure out what this is about. ...That sure is a lot of letters she's not familiar with, hm. ]

I'm not entirely sure what the letters are, but...I'll definitely drop by, if fourteen isn't too young for this? I'd like to make more friends, and I'd like to try some of those cookies.

[Oh hey, it's Primrose! The poor kid he never got around to wishing a happy birthday because he was doing the standard boyfriend fuss, oops. What a terrible fanboy he is.]

There's no age limit, so feel free to join us. As for the letters, uh. They're basically terms for the gender-sexuality spectrum.

[Fourteen's a good age to learn this stuff, right? Right. Though he's not so sure he's the one who should be explaining it to her.]

[This gets Zatanna’s attention for all the right reasons. But since people Robin are creepers, she’ll wait until she catches him in person to ask. It isn’t exactly hard to hunt him down in the middle of the plaza.]

So do people have to sign themselves up, or can they be volunteered?

[Oh dear. Zatanna, that is the most suspicious thing he's heard all day.]

Technically you can volunteer whoever you want, but there's two problems with that- one, if you're not sure who they're actually attracted to or what they're interested in, you might be kind of screwing them over, and two, I'm not forcing anyone to participate, so you'd be responsible for actually getting them to take part. So basically it's at your discretion?

[Bulla stops by the plaza. She saw the journal post, but she's pretty sure that even responding to a post about speed dating where her father could see it would be a bad idea. She'll call the event a meet and greet since all it involves is talking anyway.]

Hey Billy! I'd like to sign up for the speed dating, and if you know anyone who's a little nervous about making a good first impression looks-wise, I'll help them out.

[Donned in his superhero gear, Static is just soaring over the city with a bag of junk food (responsibility thy name is teenager) when he notices a booth. Booths usually mean free stuff, so Static floats down in front of the table, hovering just off the ground on top of an electrically charged disc.]
