Hey out there, Luceti. Are we all more or less ourselves again? Pretty sure we are, uh... here's hoping.

Considering how crazy things have been lately, Teddy and I were talking, and we think it'd be a good time to run this. We all need a break. So courtesy of the LGBTQQA Club - um, I'm tentatively calling it "Alliance", for the sake of minimizing all the abbreviations, better name possibly pending - I'm happy to introduce: Luceti's first-ever (I think) Speed Dating.

If you don't know what speed dating is, it's pretty much exactly how it sounds. The idea is we'd all get together, pair up, you'd talk to someone you might not have talked to before for about ten minutes, and then afterwards decide how you liked it and if you want to see them again. First impressions count for a lot, and sometimes that's all it takes to find your true love or your new best friend.

We're going to run it next weekend - Saturday afternoon, we figure is a good time - and sign-ups are starting now so we'll have time to pair everyone up. Anyone can participate, not just club members or people in the LGBT spectrum, and you're not obligated to do anything if you don't like it. So why not give it a shot? ...And we'll have cookies. Teddy's making them and the recipe looks amazing. Anyone else want to bring some food and stuff? We can have a table for contributions...

Um, anyway. I'll be over by the plaza today, and on the journal network, too, if you've got any questions or if you want to sign up.

Nice to know you see things my way. [Zatanna picks up a handful of forms.] Mind if I bring these back to you? I've got a few people I want to try and get to come. Most of them will fill out the cards for themselves, promise.

"Most of them." [Pfft, Zatanna. He waves her off, though, leaning back in his chair and smiling faintly.] Okay, okay, I'll trust you. Hopefully something interesting'll happen, if nothing else.

I wouldn't want to make promises I can't keep. [And there's no way Robin is filling out his own card. Zatanna's not worried, however; she and Artemis can figure out the right things to say.]

Count on it. So why speed dating? Trying to start a new fad in Luceti?

It was kind of a request. I suggested it a while back to Korra, and she was really keen on the idea once I explained what it was. After that, I just couldn't say no.

Korra, huh? I don't think I've met her, but I'll thank her for encouraging it when I do. It sounds like it'll be fun.

Just better be careful what matches you make. [She gives Billy a teasing wink.] People could get upset if things don't work out so well.

Maybe I should add a disclaimer. "The Alliance Club is not responsible for any uncomfortable encounters, nor are we obliged to find every applicant the perfect match"...

That might be smart. You wouldn't want anyone to get sue happy in the world with no money.

I wonder how that would even work. What would you sue for? Mission points? Favours? Indentured servitude?

And then you start giving people ideas. You know, at this rate you’re going to talk yourself into being someone’s houseboy. Frilly apron and all.

Well... minus the frilly apron bit, I'm kind of already doing that.

Really? How’d you get roped into that?

It's kind of a long story, but the short version is I volunteered. It was for one of my... idols, I guess you could call him? So the pay-off was pretty good for me.

...Wait. You did it because you're a fan?

I guess if you want me to admit that I'm a total nerd, sure.

Yeah, that would qualify you for nerdiness. [Seriously, Zatanna doesn’t want to clean her own room sometimes. She can’t really imagine volunteering to clean someone’s house just because she likes them that much.] So what, just being around them is satisfying enough for you to keep doing it? Because I gotta say, that sounds a little creepy.

That's not... exactly it. Would you believe I was kind of spying on them?

Oh, I'd believe it. [But he's not going to like the reason why.] I live next door to Robin. So you're a creepy spy like he is. And of your idol no less.

[Zatanna laughs, shaking her head.] Better not let him hear you say that. He'd probably take it as a challenge.

[And all joking aside? Robin trying to up his stalker factor is not what they need.]

Ugh, probably. No thank you.

[Then again, it's not like Robin's equivalent to Iron Man is even in Luceti, as far as he knows. If Batman showed up would he be washing the tights?

Afraid I'd earn the ire of everyone who had to deal with him during said competition. Trust me, I take no special pride in my housekeeping skills.

True. Inspiring Robin to be an even bigger creeper could definitely earn you some ire.

[She hops off the table, sign up cards still in hand.] Anyway, I'll let you keep playing Cupid. I need to go convince some people they want to spend an afternoon being social. [She waves, then heads off toward her Community House. Might as well get started. She and Artemis should be able to come up with something fitting for those they have to volunteer.]
