Hey, ah... Vision - I mean, Jonas - of the Young Avengers got sent home. Sorry, if you knew him.

There’s something else I wanted to talk about today: since I got here almost a year ago I’ve noticed how there’s this huge range of cultural norms across the multiverse- which makes sense, different worlds have different standards, I get it. People who are accepted in one world aren’t tolerated in another. Luceti’s kind of an anomaly, where there’s really not much, if any prejudice. I mean, there’s the whole Malnosso versus Us mentality, but that’s because of what they do, not what they are. Basically what I’m saying is that I think that’s great, and I want to do my part to keep encouraging that universal acceptance here for the people who might not be able to get it back where they come from, open up discussions to people who might not be sure about who or what they are, um...

Okay, this is a really roundabout way of saying I want to start an LGBT club. If you don’t know what that means, here’s a breakdown:

[Below is a jotted list-

L = Lesbian = girls attracted to girls
G = Gay = guys attracted to guys
B = Bisexual = guys and girls attracted to BOTH guys and girls
T = Transgender = People who feel like they were born in the body of the wrong gender (or genderfluid)
*Q = Questioning = Anyone not sure about the above or if they apply

And then it returns to voice.]

Those are really oversimplified, and there's still a lot of other words people use to define themselves, but you get the gist of it. I’d really like to meet up with anyone who matches any those descriptions, or feels like they might, or are just curious about it. I’m gonna put up some posters with suggested meeting times and places, but if you have any questions or just want to talk about it, you can use the journal (it’s okay to be anonymous!) or come right to the school. I’ve got a table set up and I’ll be here pretty much all day. I don't know if this is going to go anywhere, but it's worth a shot, right?

One last thing- we’re looking to make this a safe place, so if you plan to come just to make fun of people: we have a Hulk.

Yeah, same here. No-one's had much of a problem with it. Kind of the opposite generally.

Guess Luceti is just the cream of the crop when it comes to acceptance.

It could definitely be a lot worse, that's for sure.

Still, I think what it's sorely missing is... education, I guess you could say? I mean, some people just have no idea that this kind of stuff is even possible. Differing genders and sexualities, I mean.

Education... yeah, I can see that. I'm sure there are some people having feelings and not even knowing that it's a thing. And attitudes from home tend to carry over too. We've just been kind of lucky up until now.

That's why I wanted to start this. Both because of people not knowing, and to maybe spread that luck around a bit. If it was a huge relief to not get shunned here for me, when my world is pretty progressive as it is, how much worse must it be for worlds where you have to hide it?

Yeah, really. I'm pretty lucky where I was born. Some states of the Commonwealth are not so forgiving. Like, really not forgiving.

Commonwealth?

[There's so many worlds out there that it could be referencing Earth or something completely different.]

Uh, one of the 3 superstates where I'm from. USA, Soviet Union, Commonwealth. Kind of uh- a lot of the countries that used to be the British Empire. When that broke up, there was a lot of reorganisation and unification under one government.

[....Huh.]

So... sounds like another alternate Earth.

I think so. Everyone's been telling me the USSR is kind of gone by 2011 wherever they're from.

And that's before we get to places that don't have magic.

Wow, yeah. Guess I'll add that one to the list. Must get confusing around here when someone references the world...

Yeah, just a bit. I get the impression my world's situation is kind of unique. I mean, it's really weird to imagine a major power bloc just gone like that.

Kinda like someone telling me that the USA doesn't exist, maybe.

Probably, yeah. Been getting a lot of that since they also tell me it's just the UK now, no Commonwealth to speak of.

It's just... weird. Have a fact of life dragged out from underneath you.

Apparently I don't even exist in at least two of the universes that closely resemble mine. That's a pretty awkward reality, too.

Okay, yeah. That... That is pretty rough. Sorry to hear that. Is it just you? I mean, that remembers how stuff should be?

I've got friends from my own universe, and it might just be that I don't exist yet, so it's alright. It's weird, that's all- but I don't know if it's more or less weird than the idea of having alternate versions of myself in the universe.

That's kind of... mindscrewy. Alternate versions and all. Not sure I could take coming face to face with myself.

I've been told that one exists, actually! An alternate-me. I get to meet him in the future. Apparently he isn't that smart, though.

Could be worse. I'd hate to get shown up by an alternate version of myself. I kind of like being the only me I know about.

I don't, maybe I wouldn't mind that so much. An alternative version that's better is just a show of what your potential could be, right?

I still think I'll pass. Could be that potential is really really scary.
