[Today is a good day for serious business, apparently. There's a certain something he's been putting off for a while, and after one-too-many dreams interrupting his sleep, he's had enough: this morning when Billy wakes up, the first thing he does is jot out a note in the journal-]

Hey, would it be okay if I swung by to ask you a few things?

[He'll work through his morning routine until he gets a response, after which he'll go for a visit and get a hell of a lot more than he bargained for.

After that, his mood for the day is drastically altered; he'll skip out on school, trying to sort out his feelings on the matter. Tommy's still AWOL, and he's trying not to worry Teddy, but what he's just been told has really got him thinking- about people, and heroes, and the unfairness of mankind in general. And eventually he'll just go ahead and return to his journal for it. He's kind of in over his head here.]

I know Luceti's full of heroes- seems kind of a standard trait for most of us, for whatever reason. Back on my world, super-humans aren't that uncommon, and in general they're revered for everything they do for the world. Some of them were born that way, and some of them are from other planets, and some were altered to get their powers, and some have a lot of talent or skill instead of powers. But they're all considered to be super heroes. There's bad guys, too- just as diverse and unique as the heroes they fight. People fear them and celebrate their defeat.

There's another group, though... humans who got their powers because of evolution. It's much more natural, in a lot of ways. Some are heroes, some are villains. Some are just trying to get by without becoming one or the other. But regular humans fear them, and hate them for it, even if they save the world just as much as the heroes they love. They're called criminals or monsters, no matter how innocent they might be.

[He hesitates- it's probably obvious to some, what he's talking about, and he's not sure if he should lock it from the mutant population, or apologize, or something, but it relates to them even if it's not by name. Hiding it wouldn't be right.

In the end he just leaves it be.]

...Sorry for the ramble. But it's not fair, and... I just can't understand why. Why hate one and love the other, when they're basically the same?

No, I'm really not. But I know a little of what it's like to be hated by people you love for nothing you can help.

I try to be a good guy and it seems like basic decency.

Sometimes that's good enough. Especially in a world full of people who love to hate.

Could use a lot more of it in this world. I hope it eases up for you guys. At least people here seem pretty chill about things.

That's one thing that amazes me, honestly. But it makes sense- there's so many people with powers here, you don't have to explain where they come from. It just doesn't matter. There's no politics, no normal society... everybody's in the same boat, more or less.

It's not like this place is all good, but it's not all bad, either.

It's kind of nice in some ways. Things get so charged back home. So angry. Nice to be on a level footing, I guess.

I know I was pretty amazed by how willing people are to offer help.

Luceti just thrives on the hero-types, I guess. Or we're specially picked for it- since there's other enclosures that we know about, now.

It does seem that way, for the most part. Keeps things interesting.

At the very least, full of righteous anger at the injustice of villainy.

I just hope that the villains are sitting there twirling their moustaches in an appropriately nefarious manner.

Don't forget the evil laughter. That's essential.

Of course. And the long involved plans that are told in great detail to the heroes giving them ample time to foil them.

I always wondered why that cliche got so popular. Super villains are usually pretty smart up until that happens, and it's not very consistent, is it?

[Though they are kinda narcissistic, generally.]

Who knows? Although I have met some seriously stupid criminals. Who the hell ties a guy up in the same room as his weapons? I mean seriously, have they no self respect?

My favourite is when they set up this huge, elaborate trap that's designed to kill the hero slowly, but then they don't stick around to watch. And then they're surprised when the hero escapes to beat them up later.

Seriously. It's just... you'd feel bad for them if they weren't so amazingly stupid. and incompetent. It's just embarrassing.

And yet they seem to get away at least 90% of the time. Weird, huh.

Very weird. Good thing competent people like us exist.

Come on, competent? After you've saved the world at least once you're allowed to get a bit of an ego.

True. I wasn't sure how well 'enormous badasses' would go down as a tag line.

Who needs a tagline when your enormous badassery speaks for itself?

I'll bear that in mind when they come to make a movie.

Actually, back home that's the one thing they didn't do. The last Avengers movie I saw was the most campy, inaccurate action flick ever. They didn't even get the costumes right.

You mean they found something more campy than purple spandex? I'm impressed.

Will you still be impressed if I told you they combined your worst outfits into one? Because it was pretty horrible.
