Probably moreso for my world's Wolverine. He's with the Avengers, too, so there's a lot of location-hopping. Teleporting would be pretty useful for him!

Yeah... yeah, it's great!
[She rubs her hands, and then with a quick, sweeping motion she bends the water both off of them, and stops it from falling on them. Korra holds her hand up, creating a dome of dry space for them.]

So how'd you do it?

[Billy is momentarily distracted by the bending umbrella she's created, looking up with wide eyes and a big smile. This is so cool, he can't even begin to describe it. Waterbending is awesome.]

Oh, that? Magic.

[He gives his fingers a playful little wiggle; she'd mentioned it before, so he may as well recognize the distinction.]

[She giggles, and then starts walking back towards where she assumes the village is.]

Not as cool as bending, but okay. It's pretty neat, I'll give you that.

[Psh. He could argue that, since he's pretty sure he could do fake-bending with his magic if he wanted to, but there's little sense in starting a fight with someone you're trying to cheer up. He knows what Aang could do, and he doesn't want to piss off an Avatar who's already attacked him once.]

Give me about five minutes to recharge my batteries a little and I'll show you something cooler than that.

Oh yeah? You're gonna have to prove it.

Heh, just wait and see.

[He doesn't know what her world is like at her point in time, but he's pretty sure they don't have teleportation yet.]

So what's the deal with bending, if it isn't magic?

It's different. It's- You're born with it. It's a connection to the world, it's a way of life, and it's hard to explain.

And it... really does a number on people when it's taken away.

...Taken away?

[He glances over at her, suddenly concerned. But... isn't the Avatar the only one who can do that? So- what, did she have to do it, and now she feels guilty about it?

OH GOD SPOILERS]

Well it wasn't any big secret. At least in my world it wasn't.

Yeah, this guy who calls himself Amon has been taking people's bending away.

[So it doesn't have to be the Avatar? His mind. It is blown.

...Ooh, new series villain. Interesting.]

How can he do that? And why would he?

I've been told he does it with bloodbending. The story he tells his followers is that his family was killed by firebenders that bullied them.

Bloodbending...

[Well, damn. So there's an evil waterbender who hates firebenders and is apparently holding a grudge against benders in general...

The plot thickens.]

I tried to face him once... it didn't go so well. Asami tells me we get him in the end, though.

Asami is... a friend of yours?

[It would be creepy to start writing this stuff down, but he really, really wants to.]

She is now. I didn't like her so much at first.

-But! She's not bad, really.

[...Love rivalry? So many fan theories to consider! What would Avatar be without romance, though.]

It's good that you have a friend here, then. And that you guys win, of course! A guy like that sounds dangerous.

No kidding. We have one of his victims living with us.

Are... they okay? Besides the lost bending, I mean.

Yeah, he seems fine. Not... completely okay, but he's living. I can't help but feel somehow it's my fault though.

Because you're th- ...uh... a crime fighter?

[Wow, that could've been. Really awkward.]

The Avatar, actually. My job is to make sure there's balance in the world, and keep people safe. I'm meant for it- born for it. My destiny.

[Oh good, another term he can start using around her without spazzing out and finding an excuse for it. Phew.]

Is there a way to reverse it? I mean... it sounds like you've got a lot of power, so... maybe there's a way.

Tch, yeah maybe if I wasn't such a screw up.
