I might tell Teddy about Zombie Jesus, though. He'd probably get a kick out of it.

At least when I'm among the damned, I can remember that I was entertaining to a couple of superheroes from another universe.

You'd think God would have a sense of humour about this kind of thing.

This is definitely the most philosophical conversation I've had in a while.

That's the risk you take by talking with me, I guess. You've probably figured out that we're not like your average teenagers.

I waver between normal being overrated and normal being my idea of heaven.

So obviously, I should claim you as my mentor and ask you for guidance on being a real superhero.

...it is weird just thinking about another version of me.

[Psh. Mentoring one of the Avengers? Are you trying to kill him, Clint? Well...]

You think that's weird, I should tell you about the next generation. Hawkeye 2.0.

[That grabs his attention, and his eyes widen at it.]

Wait, there's another? No, that's...really?

[Someone would want to take on his code name?]

Really-really. While he was... dead, or presumed dead, anyway, the Young Avengers got our very own Hawkeye. Cap said she earned the name, as well as his bow. And she's amazing with it.

Careful there, I'll start to feel inadequate. [And he'll just try to keep ignoring that he's dead, or sort of dead but not really in this other world.]

I'm impressed she can even draw it.

[It might be different there, but his bow has a hell of a draw weight on it.

But there's something kind of cool about it too, that someone could take on his name and live up to his reputation.]

[And here he was trying to avoid real names. He is terrible at this secret identity thing.

Oh well, Hawkeye's trustworthy. Especially with her name.]

I hope we exist in your universe somewhere, so you can meet her someday. She's... really special. One of the strongest people I know.

[He can't help but smile at that.]

She sounds like she must be quite something. I think I'd like to meet her someday.

Then maybe the rest of us can sit back and enjoy the Hawkeye tag-team.

[...Oh wow, they really are close. Billy mulls over that for a moment, drumming his fingers against the counter.]

You should stick with the Avengers- they're better for you than SHIELD is.

[That gets a raised eyebrow, his expression becoming more serious.]

SHIELD has been good to me. I would've been nothing but a killer if they hadn't recruited me. Well, they didn't exactly give me much choice but... it worked out.

...Mm.

[Billy can't really argue with that without giving good reason for it, something he's not prepared to do after promising to keep the Civil War business under wraps. He sits in silence for a long moment, then finally shrugs his shoulders.]

It's just a thought.

[And there obviously is, if he's warning Clint away from SHIELD like that, although he doesn't know if it's relevant to his version of SHIELD.]

I'll think about it. I know you about as well as I know them, honestly.

[Billy is reluctant to say more; like Clint, he's not sure if it's even relevant, or if the future of their version of SHIELD will follow the same path.

It's a concern, is all.]

It's okay. Your SHIELD could be totally different from mine. I just think it's dangerous to mix government and superheroes.
