And the professor doesn't run the school anymore, or so I've heard.

[...augh, he's either going to start gushing or repeating himself now, so he lets his enthusiasm fizzle and slumps back against the wall again.]

Billy would love to argue, but the fact of the matter is that if they keep trying to walk out the way they had before, it's going to take days just to reach any exit, no matter where they are. As much as he hates to leave someone behind in this situation, it'd be faster and therefore safer to get some help.

Damn.

With a slight grimace he pushes off the wall and stands up, stretching his legs and glancing off in the direction they'd been walking.]

You can't order someone who's not on the team, you know. [Stop being a brat, Kaplan.] ...I'll come back with help. It's a promise.

[Logan merely nods, keeping his eyes closed and his head against the concrete. Not exactly an ideal situation, but he was going to have to rely on the kid.

[Billy opens his mouth as if to say more, but then thinks better of it and turns away, running off down the tunnel as fast as sore legs can carry him, with one hand on the wall to guide him. It's not exactly the heroic help he'd like to offer, but it'll have to do.

Still, he's sure that he'll be glad of this belatedly, if he doesn't regret it later. It was nice to get things out in the open.]
