Tommy gives a jump, catching hold of a branch (breaking it as he lets go, the force of it is something like a jet plan running into a twig) and uses the momentum to get himself treeborn. ]

The change in direction catches him off guard, since it happened before his teleported arrival, so he has to take a moment and get himself back on track. Once he gets a fix on Tommy's position, he switches tactics and tries flying up to the higher branches instead of teleporting around. He can't fly as fast as Tommy can run, but there's far fewer obstacles in the air, so that's a perk.]
