Well, you are in a rather different situation than I in that regard as well. [Because when Billy goes home, presumably it will be to Teddy. When Loki goes home well... it'll just be prison and a return to his long-term game.

He no longer finds the prospect quite as thrilling as it once was. Maybe he's had too many people force him to explain just why he wants to rule Asgard.]
