[ And she doesn't waste any more time, quickly shutting her journal and making her way to the apartment in question. As she nears, Duck's pendant starts to glow - the telltale sign of a heart shard nearby - and she transforms into Princess Tutu.

There's a crisp knock moments later on Billy's door. ]

[Billy's eager to get this nonsense out of his life, so he wastes no time in answering the door. As soon as it's open, he has to stop and stare, though.

Wow, um. That sure is an outfit.]

...Princess... Tutu?

[ Unlike her normal counterpart, Tutu doesn't even miss a beat. ]

Hello there. Thank you for calling out about the shard. It will mean a great deal to someone very dear to me to get it back.

[...It's gonna be hard to keep a straight face with that get-up. Billy somehow manages to keep his reaction limited to staring, just long enough to let her inside and focus back on the issue at hand.]

Yeah, uh- about that. I'd like some answers first, like what the heck that thing was, and if it's likely to happen again. It really did a number on someone important to me.

[Loki calls for the magic lesson early today, and asks to have it at the stable for... nefarious purposes. Because he has a favor to ask of Billy.]

[ She nods, earnest. He was right to have concerns - heart shards were powerful things, and she didn't want to cause him undue worry. ]

It was an emotion. A piece of someone's heart. It escaped from him when he came to this world, and found its way into your special one. As long as I return it to him, it will not wander again.

[The stables. The stables. Already, Billy is feeling wary and suspicious; it's not like he figures there's anything nefarious going on - he does trust Loki to some degree by now - but... still. The stables.

He'd had the sense to wear less-than-quality clothes, at least, as if sensing his fate (or just not wanting to ruin his nice jeans with horse crap), and as soon as he arrives he heads over to Vakri's stall, as he assumes that's where Loki is.]

[That is indeed where Loki is. He pops up and gives Billy a cheerful smile, the sort that should probably strike fear into his heart.]

Hello Billy. I thought it high time you learn to ride.

[She gets a dubious look for that - emotion, seriously? Of all the things it could have been, heart shard wasn't even on the list. But, then, he's also got one fifth of a transmigrated demon soul, so he really shouldn't be pointing fingers at things and calling them weird.

Even if they totally are.

Finally he nods, though, leading her further inside and stopping next to the couch. With a lift and a shove he moves the furniture aside, revealing the shard on the floor, covered by a magical blue dome.]

I left it where it fell. To be honest, I didn't want to touch it, in case it was still dangerous.

[......

Yup, that explains that foreboding feeling he'd had.]

Are you kidding? Tell me you're kidding. Yeah, you're definitely kidding.

[He doesn't look like he's kidding.]

[Loki points up toward his own face.]

This is not my kidding face.

[Though no lie, he is feeling very amused.]

Vakri is an Aesir horse you know. I'd have thought you'd be wild for the opportunity.

[ She follows, her heart fluttering when she sees the heart shard. There really was one here... ]

Do not worry. I will take it back to the one to whom it belongs.

[He knew that, he really did. But he wishes Loki would stop smiling.]

I like the idea of, you know. Looking at horses. Petting them, if they're not snappy. But riding? Are you trying to get my neck broken?

I think Vakri would be quite hurt that you have so little faith in him.

Shouldn't Vakri be more cautious about the high likelihood of my running him into a tree?

[He rode a motorcycle once with Rogue. He's lucky he didn't kill himself then.]

I think he'd be even more hurt you have so little respect for his intellect.

Hey, hey, it's all on me.

[He digs Vakri. He's pretty sure half the time the damn horse is smarter than he is.]

Seriously though, isn't he... kind of advanced for me? I think I'd be out of my league with a carnival pony.

Only a foolish teacher would start a new rider on an ill-trained horse. [Loki shakes his head.]

The point is that he's my horse. A magician's horse. His greatest talent is in watching out for his rider.

[Another dubious look, his gaze switching between Loki and Vakri. It's not a no, but... hrngh...]

I am way too much of a city boy for this...

Your excuses are becoming increasingly flimsy. It's fun to watch.

...Okay, fine, they're excuses. But they're not supposed to be entertaining.

[The only answer he gets there is a giggle.]

You know where Vakri's tack is. Kindly fetch it?

...I hate you.

[Without much venom in the tone, obviously- merely exasperation and a reluctant submission to his fate. He heads off to get aforementioned tack, lugging it back over to the stall, though he stops and faces Vakri down first.]

Um. So. Truce, then?

[Another fit of giggling answers that. Loki waits for Billy to come back with the tack.]

Anstå is the command you want. You're telling him to hold patiently.
