[Billy ducks his head, lifting the heel of his palm to rub stubbornly at an eye. He's always been excessively emotional, but he's determined not to cry in front of Tony. He'd probably never hear the end of it.]

You are still a jerk sometimes, though, so don't worry about your reputation.

[It's true. He wouldn't. Probably. Tony will just take a well-timed sip of his drink and concentrate on the glass.]

Well, that's a relief. I can't tell you how shattered I'd be if people knew I was nice occasionally.

[Awfully nice of him, really. Billy lowers his hand and sips at his own glass as he recovers, swallowing hard before he trusts himself to speak again.]

Thought so. I won't say a word.

There's a good fanboy.

[What were you saying about nice? Tony smirks and takes another sip from his glass, emptying it.]

Now our skeletons are out of the closet, and I have a mission to set off on in the morning. [Not to mention a lady waiting at home. And he shouldn't keep the lady waiting.] You think you can make it home after that Coke? It's a doozy.

[Wow, that's not degrading at all...]

I'm sure I can stagger my way through a teleport somehow. [Billy smiles faintly, lifting a hand to wave him off.] Don't get killed, okay? I'd be no comfort to Pepper.

[It's said half-teasingly, but he does mean it. On both parts.]

Don't worry, I've already promised her that. She was very persuasive.

[Not that he intended to get hurt anyway. Getting hurt really isn't one of his favorite things, even if it seems to happen a lot.]

Try not to get too wasted, Billiam.

[It probably could end in injury. Accidental or otherwise. Logan's claws are still out and now that Billy is this close, there's just enough dim light that he can probably make them out. Not to mention that when he shoulders on arm, the flat end of those claws may end up resting against his side.

For his part, Logan is not happy. But he also doesn't have the strength to really move on his own. He's a three hundred pound man thanks to his adamantium skeleton. But he's not going to pull away. Because as much as he prefers to stand on his own two feet, the man is a realist.]

You should be going ahead by yourself, kid. [Again, he's a realist. This is a lot of weight to carry for a walk that may last them all day.]

[Psh... like he'd drink underage. His mother would find a way to travel across dimensions so she could kill him herself.]

[Oh god, and he's noticing it now. That is definitely a claw. Ow. Billy winces, trying to angle his body a little to keep it away from the adamantium, but it's hard to do without losing his balance or causing Logan's weight to overwhelm him completely. He'll have to tough it out for now.

Teddy's going to kill me later. Though that's preferable over him going after Wolverine instead. Still, he could really use his boyfriend's super strength right about now, unless the tunnels would nullify that, too. Ugh...

Still, he keeps it up. It'll be slow-going and painful on both of their parts, but the alternative just isn't an option for him.]

Sorry, I've got a rule. Nobody gets left behind. Anyway, I may not look like much, but I can be pretty tough.

[He'll just... keep telling his legs not to shake. That'll work.]

[He's right. Logan doesn't think he looks like much. But that little speech does earn a little respect. That's how it was when he worked with Cap. They never left a soldier behind. Even at risk to themselves. Sure, he knew this kid was some kind of hero, but seeing it in action? Well. That was a tiny modicum of respect.

Not that he was going to show it. Logan continued to use the wall to keep himself from falling on top of the kid. Sometimes his claws would scratch against the wall as he went.

Damn. He could feel himself breaking into a cold sweat already. Getting winded this quickly? Something was wrong.]

Tough or not, you won't last much longer trying to carry me.

[He knows that Logan has a point; he doesn't want to acknowledge it, but he does recognize that fact. They're both already tiring, Logan's in pain and shouldn't be walking, and there's no way that he can carry this man's weight on his own should he collapse.

He doesn't stop, though, and he doesn't let go. He puts up with the sweat and the weight and the claws scraping against his side, because that is what super heroes do. More than that, it's just the right thing to do. He may not have powers right now, but that doesn't change who he is.]

You're just wasting your breath trying to convince me, you know...

[It'd been two days since the experiment ended, and Teddy and Billy are still inside, being very careful about where they go and what they do. After spending a few times trying to go... a little further, only to be rudely interrupted by the shift, they'd become a little paranoid about trying anything else.

But Teddy's noticed that, the very few times they'd had to open a door, nothing would happen. No falling into another room, no fighting a kraken, no nearly naked women jumping onto their bed, nothing. They'd just find the destination they were looking for, a relief Teddy took with a grain of salt.

Now, though, after two days, Teddy sits behind his boyfriend with his arms around his waist and his chin on his shoulder, lazily reading one of the few comic books they'd found in the village. It's only when they're actually done and talked out theories and what might happen next that Teddy brings up what's on his mind now.]

Hey, you think the shift's finally over?

Mm...?

[Billy's response is somewhat vague, his gaze fixated on the pages in front of him, the very picture of comfort and contentment. It's a lazy afternoon, the weather is beautiful, he's cuddling with his boyfriend, and Batman is punching people in the face. What could be more perfect than this?

...Right, he should probably respond to Teddy.]

...Uh, yeah, I think so. You can usually tell when it wears off on a bunch of people at once.

Mm, good. I didn't think they'd be that annoying.

[Teddy settles his head against Billy's shoulder again. Not only is Batman punching people in the face, but Nightwing's ass is looking as fine as ever, and that's plenty of reason to be distracted.

It's after another moment that he talks again.]

So we're not going to have anyone interrupting us anymore, huh...

[There is a pause in which Billy does nothing and says nothing in response to that, seemingly fixated on the pages in front of him. That is a mighty fine ass, after all.

But.

A slow smile crosses his lips, and he turns the page of the comic and shifts a little against Teddy's body, his movement very intentional.]

What, are you getting bored of Batman already?

[For a moment, Teddy doesn't say anything either, even as he takes in a slow breath thanks to that movement of Billy's. Gotta read the page he just turned, after all, even if there's nothing much going on in it.

But about at the middle of the page, his fingers slide down, brushing over Billy's hip and caressing his inner thigh.]

Batman's kind of a jerk anyway. Nightwing's always been my favorite, and he leaves on this page.

[Well. Who is he to argue with that? Billy sets free a faint chuckle, accented by a shiver as his muscles tense beneath Teddy's fingers. He tilts the comic, slowly starting to close it. He's really going to want his hands free at this rate.]

Mm... and my favourite isn't even in this one. The library needs better selection.

[The foreplay of fanboys, ladies and gents.]

Why do they always make the sidekicks cooler than the heroes?

[He lets his thumb circle against Billy's thigh while Teddy presses a few light kisses to his shoulder, towards his neck. The palm of his other hand rests against his chest once he reaches it, and it's there that he lets up on his kisses enough to nuzzle his jawline.]

I'll let you know if I find one with Red Robin later. Or just Tim in general.

Mm... cooler? I'm gonna tell Cap you said that...

[Bucky's definitely cool, but better than Captain America? Questionable.

Billy finally relents with his teasing, though, closing the comic and setting it on the bedside table so he can give his boyfriend the attention he's earning with all of those pleasant touches. He tilts his head to give Teddy full access to his neck, hands sliding behind himself to press up against the blond's stomach, stroking the tips of his fingernails just under the shirt.]

[Well. So be it. Logan isn't going to argue much more against that.]

Fine. Guess there ain't no talking you out of it. [Now it's just a matter of seeing if they can keep it up or if the tunnel will claim them.]

Oh wow, so he knew you before you were even Captain America... that's amazing.

[He's only spoken to the man once, and what he knows is very limited - Tony Stark was always the more interesting member of the family to a young fanboy for obvious reasons. He might have to give conversing with the elder Stark another shot sometime.]

Guess not.

[It'll be a struggle, but hey, as long as Wolverine doesn't poke a hole in anything important, he can manage for a while. In retrospect this was a pretty reckless decision, though. Logan always makes movement seem so natural, he hadn't realized...]

You're... ah... you're pretty heavy, though.

Well, we didn't really know each other then. I was just the scrawny test subject no one was sure would make it through the process. [His grin is a little self deprecating. Really, the only one who thought he had a chance was Dr. Erskine. It's because of him Steve could become Captain America and every day he lives at least partially to make the man proud.]

Scrawny... what, like someone like me? [Billy leans back with a lifted brow, still smiling, though he looks a little amazed.] It's hard to imagine you ever being like that. As long as I can remember you've been- well, Captain America.

Yeah. Turns out adamantium ain't exactly light.

[He's literally twice Billy's weight. Logan is carrying his own weight to some extent, but he's still a lot of pounds in a pretty small package.]
