[Billy has never thought of himself as one of those obsessive stalker boyfriends who needs to be attached at the hip to his significant other at all times. Really, he'd always figured they were pretty good about mutual space. A two-month separation with the potential of spending years in this place without seeing Teddy again is, however, apparently the trigger he'd needed to become one, so after one too many looks from Teddy - some patient, others not so much - he'd officially gotten himself banished from the apartment for the afternoon after too much worried lurking. Which is... not the greatest thing ever on a hot day like today, but ten minutes down the road he realizes that, yeah, he'd been a little ridiculous, either blowing off his responsibilities or dragging Teddy along for the ride. He's happy and eager to have Teddy here, but they'd lived separate lives at least half the time back home; no reason for that to not continue here as well.

It's just hard to let go after you've missed someone for that long.

Still, that's how he finds himself out and about for around five hours today, doing the following (in no particular order):

- a late lunch at Seventh Heaven
- searching around the library for comic books
- combat practice in the Battle Dome (with or without his trusty new teacher)

While at the library, a few sketches find their way into his journal, more or less like the following: this, this, and this. Some time afterwards, a scribbled message appears below.]

What are some good ways to deal with bad dreams?

[Once he's finished all his daily stuff, he'll be bringing groceries home around dinner time, in the hopes that he's allowed. Feel free to run into him at any time.]

Arrrragh! [Cough. Cough. some dirt comes out of his mouth, but also a puff of blue fire. He tries to get himself into a standing position. As he does though, able to rest a bit, the wounds he does have - at least the more obvious cuts and stuff - are already starting to seal up and heal. He's got a healing factor too, yep] Still not enough, huh?!

[Snarl at the door he just stumbled out of...

...and then he notices Billy's there. He turns, still on fire and with the fangs and cat-like eyes and stuff-]

You say something?

[Aaaand he's still on fire. Proceeding with caution, then- still, he's trying not to be intimidated, because he's a super hero, dammit, and he will not be cowed.]

I was asking if you were okay, but you're obviously not. Do you need some help?

Oh! Uh... no, not really.

[Cough. Here we go, there's what was in his throat. Cough again. Got it. Gaggy noise. Yes, there that's perfect. His tail wags, inadvertently sending flame in both directions as it does, but.]

I mean, I heal fast. Nice of you to ask though!

Are you sure? Because you're kind of on fire.

[But now that he's closer and he's noticing the fangs and the tail? Maybe that's... normal. And maybe he should be a little more cautious about this.

Then again he's also dating a guy who looks like a dragon-Skrull hybrid half the time so this could just be how he fights... Luceti makes it pretty difficult to tell.]

Oh- [...Right. He should. Where's the scabbard. He looks around and- there, it fell off his belt. He picks it up off the grounnd and puts his sword away. When he does, the flame "horns" vanish, along with most of the other blue fire around him. The ears get shorter (but still pointed) and same for the fangs and claws. The tail is still there, but no longer has flames on the end of it.

And he grins sheepishly] That's uh. Yeah, just a thing I do.

[See, normal? ...Though out of his demon form his wounds hurt more, so he winces in the smiling]

["Just a thing I do." Is that supposed to be reassuring? Billy frowns, his brows furrowing, but he tries his best to shake it off. This is definitely a weird situation even for him.]

Well... I'm just saying, I can heal you if you want. I can do that kind of thing. [....] But how do you set yourself on fire?

Oh they're just... my flames. From my. Self? Heart- Err anyway! If you can heal things, I heal fast, but fighting that jackass's tough, I'll take it.

[In fact he's going to sit now]

Who were you fighting?

[He crouches down as well, calling out his magic and starting up a chant after his question is asked- "IwanthimtohealIwanthimtohealIwant-"]

[...Wait what is this weird chanty witchcraft? He watches, but he narrows his eyes and then decides to just let it go with a sigh. Maybe it'll work and make him less sore]

Satan.

[That answer makes Billy splutter a little, so hopefully he got the majority of healing done in the meantime. Whaaaaat!?]

Satan- why would you be fighting something like that!?

'Cus I wanted to see how I'd do against the old bastard now. [Cough. Ugh. Wow he hit hard. Even if he is distinctly a lot less sore now he's still breathing a bit harder]

[Now, he says. And he thought his life back home was interesting.]

So... you've fought him before.

...Yeah. I dunno if you can really call it a fight, but I did. Yeah.

[Darkly. Gritting his teeth]

Can I ask why? Is fighting demons that common where you're from?

[Mind you, Mephisto is a repeated villain on Earth, but a demon calling himself Satan is kind of a bigger deal than that.]

Dunno if you'd call it common, and my thing with Satan's kind personal - [And he coughs up a small blue fireball at that. Ach] but as for demon fighting, it does happen. We're exorcists. It's up to us to even the score when they're going around messing with or killin' humans. [...Said the kid with the tail]

[Wow, that really does not look healthy. Maybe he could use a drink or something...

...How do you treat a fireball cough?]

Exorcists on your world have fire swords and tails?

[On Earth they have thumping Bibles and crucifixes... so boring in comparison.]

Some of 'em got swords, but no, the fire's from me, and the tail's from me. ...I'm kinda a demon. [...That's still so awkward to say. And in fact he looks sort of. Uncomfortable saying it, even if he resolved to be honest about it]

...O... oh. [Wow, he's so honest about it.] A demon exorcist? That's...

[He wants to say rare, but- is it? It could be totally normal on this guy's world.]

Yeah, I know it's kinda weird. [Sheepishly. rolling his shoulders]

Ah, sorry. It's not a big deal, just surprising. Fighting demons sounds like an interesting job, though.

[It actually is a big deal, but he's got no reason to press it. He gets back to a crouch, gingerly pushing on his legs and rocking from toes to heels in terms of putting weight on things. Testing out how he's doing. As he goes-]

Pretty much. The school part's kinda not my style, but we're doing a right good public service.

[Billy moves as if to stand with him, hovering close just in case. He's not about to let someone collapse right in front of him.]

A school for exorcists? There's one I've never heard of before.

Cram school, anyway! The school-school's normal, but there's seven of us in the class for the cram school.

[Eight, but then Shura wasn't... a real student...]

[A normal school with a class for exorcism. Now he can't decide which one is more weird.]

That's... kind of cool, actually.

Mmhm. 'Side from all the hassle. I mean tests of demon pharmaceuticals, who even needs that?! I'm not trying to be a doctor or nothing...
