[Part of the reason Loki is so basically offended by the idea of being depressed, of having such problems, is because he knows he is better than all of the Asgardians, who in turn think themselves far above the mortals, thus he too must be. Asgardians are not so afflicted. At least not the ones who survive. Sharing a disease of the flesh or brain with mortals is not something he wants at all.
