But humans compartmentalize and define anything and everything. For the average person, when someone is defined as "lover", you don't get to call anyone else that unless the relationship is over or you're cheating. And that's what hurts the most- realizing that what you thought about your world was true is suddenly a lie. That this person who was a huge part of your world wanted more than you could give.
