[Teddy's moan is stirring in all the best and deepest parts of him, and Billy grimaces briefly, resisting the urge to charge right into thrusting before he caves a little to it, his hips jerking forward, his eagerness showing. The ease of his movement tells him that Teddy's probably ready for it, but he doesn't want to rush this yet. The build-up is so much better than the swift and hard rutting they used to do on occasion, that had become one of his favourite style of sex. It used to be a thrill, driven by haste and hormones. It was such a huge part of him, his powers, that energy, electricity, practically imbued in his very skin, woven through his personality. It showed, when he took Teddy instead of the other way around. That rush of electrified spark that made him push and push and explode at the peak of that power.
He can't do that anymore. Not yet. There's a wall of hesitation holding him back, held together with a quiet desire for something soft, something familiar, something gentle. A reassurance for the both of them that this wasn't about just sex, or charging his batteries or whatever. It's about them, as a team, building one another up, pushing and pulling and just... being.
And maybe someday they can be like they were before. Maybe someday he can do it that way again. But not yet. He picks up his speed again, slower this time, shifting his hands to let them slide through Teddy's hair as he uses his elbows for support instead, relishing in the feel and the scent of him. Slowly, slowly, but a bit faster with every moment that passes. It's so much better, more suited to the jittery and re-developing creature their relationship had become.

It gets better.
It'll get so much better.]
