[Action/Written]
[Billy has never thought of himself as one of those obsessive stalker boyfriends who needs to be attached at the hip to his significant other at all times. Really, he'd always figured they were pretty good about mutual space. A two-month separation with the potential of spending years in this place without seeing Teddy again is, however, apparently the trigger he'd needed to become one, so after one too many looks from Teddy - some patient, others not so much - he'd officially gotten himself banished from the apartment for the afternoon after too much worried lurking. Which is... not the greatest thing ever on a hot day like today, but ten minutes down the road he realizes that, yeah, he'd been a little ridiculous, either blowing off his responsibilities or dragging Teddy along for the ride. He's happy and eager to have Teddy here, but they'd lived separate lives at least half the time back home; no reason for that to not continue here as well.
It's just hard to let go after you've missed someone for that long.
Still, that's how he finds himself out and about for around five hours today, doing the following (in no particular order):
- a late lunch at Seventh Heaven
- searching around the library for comic books
- combat practice in the Battle Dome (with or without his trusty new teacher)
While at the library, a few sketches find their way into his journal, more or less like the following: this, this, and this. Some time afterwards, a scribbled message appears below.]
What are some good ways to deal with bad dreams?
[Once he's finished all his daily stuff, he'll be bringing groceries home around dinner time, in the hopes that he's allowed. Feel free to run into him at any time.]

[She shrinks a little in her seat for a moment despite his casual dismissal of her obliviousness. This wouldn't be the first time her ignorance of something has come around to bite her. Luceti is just a whole pot of culture shock waiting to happen.]
[Action]
So, you have someone like that back on your world?
[Action]
Yes...I think so. It's a little complicated.
[Action]
[Except maybe fairy tales, but they aren't exactly history, are they?]
I'm sorry they're not here, though. It's hard to be without that support.

[Sabriel leans an elbow against the table, resting her chin in her palm as she sighs. The last time she had really spoken to anyone about this was with Rue when she had first arrived. Thinking now about Touchstone again left her with... conflicting emotions.]
May I be open with you, Billy?
[Action]
Yeah, of course.
[Action]
[It's a little odd speaking about this sort of thing so openly but...Billy was in a relationship, maybe he could give her some advice? It's not like she has anyone else her age to ask that might know.]
When the Malnosso first brought me here we sort of...well, it became apparent that there might be more than just companionship between us. But with the distance and the months here I just...don't know how I feel anymore.
[Action]
Is it because... it's been so long? Or is there someone else?
[It's a necessary question- a change in companionship is kind of a big deal in any relationship. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" is not a universal phrase.]
[Action]
It's very confusing...I don't even know if it counts as me being unfaithful since nothing was confirmed before I was brought here.
[Action]
[It's a bit silly, in his mind, to think that way.]
This is going to sound really corny, so I'm just gonna come out and say it- you have to do what your heart tells you. If the guy is that important to you, and you're willing to wait for him, then you shouldn't do anything here. But I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to be with someone else, either. If you do anything less than what you want to, you'll just be unfaithful to yourself. And that's worse.
[Action]
[Sabriel nods, listening intently as Billy gives his advice. He had a point, now all she had to do was figure out how she really felt about the two men.]
I don't think...the person here would really understand the sentiment, or be able to return it. As for home...well, Touchstone is in a similar situation to me. He doesn't have anyone else. At the same time...I can't tell if we'd be so close if our predicament wasn't quite so...dire.
[She looks up with a small, almost apologetic smile.]
Sorry, I didn't mean to bog you down with my personal troubles.
[Action]
You know, besides the usual Teddy is perfect kind of gratefulness, anyway.]
It's okay, really. If I can help somehow, I don't mind. But if you're worried the other person doesn't feel the same, you could just wait it out, see what happens. My experience is that people in love aren't all that subtle.
[Action]
[Because in all probability, the feelings that had come from her Shifted memories were fuzzy at best now and really, she's just grateful to have Viral as a friend. To expect anything else from him would be unrealistic.]
If I may ask, how did you and Teddy first meet?
[Action]
Okay, hang on- that isn't what I meant, either. It's okay to have feelings for someone. It happens all the time, and there's nothing wrong with it. What I'm trying to say by "wait it out" is like... sometimes people confess too soon. The other person isn't ready. So think about how you feel, and how it seems like he feels, and sooner or later your moment'll come around. It's 50% instinct and 50% emotion.
[Action]
[Beastmen aren't programed with the same sets of inner workings as humans are after all. There's really no point in her holding on to those Shifted emotions but it just feels kind of sad to let them go.]
[Action]
Is he like... a robot?
[Because he's seen that and they can totally work. His first dad was a robot, it's cool!]
[Action]
[And please try not to notice the colour that starts to rise to her cheeks. For heaven's sake they had been talking about him earlier in the conversation too.
Oh dear. With any luck Billy won't put two and two together.]
[Action]
That's okay, my boyfriend is an alien.
[Said in the most casual of tones; it honestly doesn't matter a bit to him.]
[Action]
An...alien? From another planet you mean?
[She never would have guessed it, unsurprisingly.]
[Action]
Yeah- well, I mean, he was raised on Earth with humans, but he was born on another planet. It's pretty cool.
[Action]
[All that newfangled technology is so interesting!]

[Action]
I suppose the cause of the meeting doesn't matter so long as you're both happy.
